Savar representative: The Jahangirnagar University Teachers’ Association has announced to hold a sit-in program on Tuesday (16 July) in protest of the Prime Minister’s speech on the teachers’ movement.
Along with this, the general secretary of the Jahangirnagar University Teachers’ Association, Professor Shahed Rana, said that they will continue the ongoing movement to demand the withdrawal of the discriminatory ‘verification’ scheme announced by the Ministry of Finance. He said that these decisions were taken at the emergency general meeting of the teachers’ association on Monday (July 15).
Three decisions were taken in the general meeting held on Monday.
The programs announced by the teachers are: The ongoing general strike of the teachers will continue until the demands are met; In view of the Prime Minister’s statement, a sit-in program will be held tomorrow with a black cloth on the face; To ensure a fair trial by an inquiry committee in the clash between the BCL and the quota activists in Jabi over sloganeering on Sunday night.
Earlier, in a press conference on Sunday, in response to a question about teachers agitating for pension, the Prime Minister said, ‘Sh There is no such thing as pension fund Universal pension scheme for all Let them be tired to carry out the movement, then I will sit.
