Sunamganj Corespondent:  Shamima Begum, daughter of Abul Hussain of village Charchoudai (Ashakachar) of Ward No. 7 of Chatak Upazila, Chramhalla UP.

The incident took place on Monday (May 20) around 5 pm.

The victim committed suicide by hanging her veil to the wall of her house.Police arrived and recovered the victim’s body.

Shapla Begum, the sister of the victim, said that Charchoudai (middle house) of the village is dead. Manhar Ali’s son Yunus Ali (27) was in a long-term relationship with the victim.

That boyfriend Yunus Ali is the father of two children.

 Yunus Ali gave a mobile phone to his girlfriend Shamima Begum a few months back, which saved her from committing suicide as the mobile phone was taken back from her boyfriend on Monday.

Acting Chairman of Charmahalla UP Noor Mia said that Yunus Ali had a love affair with Shamima Begum, at one point Yunus proposed marriage. The girl’s family agreed to this proposal with some conditions. The condition is that the girl will always remain in the father’s family. But the lover did not agree to this condition and took back the mobile phone given by him.

At some point the girl committed suicide.
