Briefing parade held on the occasion of Narail Sadar Upazila Parishad election. (21 May) On the occasion of 6th Narail Sadar Upazila Election, a briefing parade was organized at Narail Police Lines Drill Shed on Monday (20 May). Narail District Superintendent of Police Mohd Mehdi Hasan was present as the chief guest at the briefing parade. Ujjal Roy, Narail district representative said that the Superintendent of Police instructed the policemen to perform their duties properly to complete free, fair and impartial elections. Everyone is asked to fulfill their duties according to the upazila election rules. He warned that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who is negligent and biased in fulfilling their duties. Superintendent of Police said, 1 municipality and 13 unions of Narail Sadar Upazila have been divided into 2 sectors and the responsibility of each sector has been given to an additional Superintendent of Police. Similarly, 1 municipality and 12 unions of Lohagara upazila have been divided into 2 sectors and 2 additional Superintendents of Police have been given the responsibility. A total of 100 polling stations in Narail Sadar Upazila and 97 polling stations in Lohagara Upazila will have 3 people in general polling stations and 4 people in important polling stations as well as members of Ansar and VDP and village police will be deployed. A mobile team of police has been deployed in each union, 1 striking team for 3 unions for the purpose of polling station security and for smooth voting by the general public. Besides, a special striking team consisting of DB police members of the district has been formed to maintain a peaceful atmosphere on the polling day. Finally, the police superintendent said, “I will give my vote to whoever I want” and expressed the hope of getting a free, fair and impartial election. Tarek Al Mehdi, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) attended the briefing parade under the chairmanship of Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Saiful Islam; Bikash Chandra Das, District Commandant, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces, Narail. Besides, Mir Shariful Haque, DIO-01, District Special Branch; Md. Sabbirul Alam, Officer-in-Charge, District Intelligence Branch; Md. Shah Dara Khan, In-charge, CCIC; Md. Hasanuzzaman, TI 1, Narail and various ranks of policemen from various units of the district police, members of Bangladesh Ansar and village defense forces and village policemen were present in the said briefing.
