Savar Correspondent : The police have arrested a neighbor named Noor Islam in connection with the rape of a 4-year-old child in Savar’s Ashulia. The police sent him to the court on Wednesday (May 8) afternoon. Earlier, on Tuesday (May 7) evening, an incident of rape took place in the area adjacent to Ducati Garments in Kathgara, Ashulia.
The arrested Noor Islam Gaibandha is the son of deceased Ahsan Ali of Khamar Gobindpur village of Sadar police station. He is the tenant of another room in the same house. The victim is 4 years old. He lives with his parents. Their village home is in Nawabganj police station of Dinajpur district.
According to the statement of the case, Noor Islam took the child to her room and raped her while playing in the yard. After about 40 minutes the child came out of the room. Seeing that the child is having trouble walking, the mother wants to know. When the child informed her mother, the other tenants of the house got excited and beat up Noor Islam.
After receiving the information on 999 number, the police arrested the accused and took him to the police station. The victim’s mother filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Act at Ashulia police station in the same night.
Ashulia Police Station Inspector (Operation) Nirmal Kumar Das said that after the arrest of the accused, the truth of the incident was found in the initial interrogation. The child victim was sent to One Stop Crisis Center for a physical examination.
